Author Guidelines

1. General Information

Student Journal of Education and Learning (SJEL) publishes original research articles, conceptual papers, literature reviews, and case studies related to education and learning.
Manuscripts submitted to SJEL must be written in English and must not have been previously published or be under consideration elsewhere.
Authors are strongly encouraged to read and follow these guidelines carefully prior to submission.

2. Manuscript Structure

Manuscripts should be organized using the following structure:

  • Title: Concise and informative, written in English, and not exceeding 15 words.

  • Author(s) and Affiliation(s): Include the full names, institutional affiliations, and email addresses of all authors.

  • Abstract: Written in English, 150–250 words, summarizing the purpose, methodology, key findings, and conclusions.

  • Keywords: 3–5 keywords, separated by commas.

  • Introduction: Clearly explain the background, objectives, research gaps, and significance of the study.

  • Literature Review (optional): Provide a theoretical framework and a review of relevant prior studies.

  • Methodology: Describe the research design, participants, instruments, data collection, and data analysis methods in sufficient detail.

  • Results and Discussion: Present findings clearly using relevant tables/figures, followed by interpretation and discussion.

  • Conclusion: Summarize major findings and provide implications or recommendations for future research.

  • Acknowledgment (optional): Recognize individuals or institutions that supported the research.

  • References: Use APA 7th Edition style. Only include sources cited in the manuscript.

3. Formatting Guidelines

  • Length: 5–15 pages (excluding references).

  • Font: Times New Roman, size 12 pt.

  • Line Spacing: 1.15

  • Margins: 2.5 cm on all sides

  • File Format: Microsoft Word (.docx)

  • Tables and Figures: Must be numbered and given clear titles.

  • Reference Management: Use citation tools such as Mendeley or Zotero to manage references.

4. Submission Procedure

All manuscripts must be submitted online through the Online Journal System (OJS) available on the SJEL website.
The corresponding author is required to register an account and follow the step-by-step submission instructions.
Submissions via email will not be accepted.

5. Review Process

  • All submitted manuscripts will undergo initial screening by the editor to ensure alignment with the journal's scope and formatting requirements.

  • Eligible manuscripts will be reviewed by two or more reviewers through a double-blind peer review process.

  • Authors may be asked to revise their manuscripts in response to reviewer comments.

  • Final editorial decisions (Accepted, Minor Revision, Major Revision, or Rejected) will be communicated through the OJS.

6. Copyright and License

Authors retain copyright of their work while granting SJEL the right of first publication.
All published articles are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), which permits use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided the original work is properly cited.

7. Plagiarism Policy

All submitted manuscripts are screened using reliable plagiarism detection software.
Manuscripts with a similarity index above 20% (excluding references) will be automatically rejected.

8. Publication Schedule

SJEL is published four times a year:
March, June, September, and December.
